Australia Swagman Doll
Australian swagman doll. Unemployed men carrying the traditional swag travelled by foot from farm to farm to urn a living by doing temporary jobs, particularly during the depressions of the 1890's and 1930's. Corks dangling from his hat keep the flies away. A rolled-up blanket is on his back. Marked 'Australia Swagman' in handwriting. Size 21 cm.
