Romania Timis Swabian Wedding Dolls by Arta Crisana

Two Romanian peasant dolls dressed in Swabian costume from the Timis county, Banat region. The Banat Swabians are a German ethnic group. These dolls possibly represent a bride and groom. No labels but identified and marked by the present owner NCDC as Banat Swabian. Also seen similar dolls labeled 'Svaba Timis'. Size around 21 cm without stand.

Arta Crisana was founded in 1968 and is located in Oradea. This company is specialized in producing folk art like regional dolls, traditional costumes and rugs.
