Mexico Toluca Adelita
This type of doll is made in Toluca in the state of Mexico (Central Mexico). It represents 'La Adelita', a woman soldier or soldadera. 'La Adelita' is a folksong that was popular during the Mexican revolution (1910 - 1920) and since then Adelita stands for a female fighter or a strong courageous woman. This doll carries a wooden gun on it's back. Size 18 cm. No marks.
