Nigeria Ibadan Yoruba Man with Talking Drum
Thorn wood carvings are unique to Nigeria and show scenes of the customs and culture of the Yoruba people. Here we have a man playing a talking drum. This kind of drum was used to send messages over a large distance by mimicing the tones of speech. He has a stamp under his stand that reads:
