Romania Gorj Dolls by Arta Crisana
Two Romanian peasant dolls both dressed in regional costume from the Gorj county. The male is playing panpipes. The female is holding a jug and is marked 'Coop Arta Crisana Oradea, Papusa Taranca Gorj' (Papusa Taranca Gorj meaning Doll Peasant Woman Gorj). The male was identified and marked by the present owner NCDC as coming from Gorj. Size around 23 cm without stand.
Arta Crisana was founded in 1968 and is located in Oradea. This company is specialized in producing folk art like regional dolls, traditional costumes and rugs.
