Seychelles Creole Woman

The population of the island group Seychelles is multi-ethnic due to colonization by the French and the British. They brought slaves from East Africa to Seychelles to work on cinnamon, vanilla and coconut plantations. This doll is made of stuffed cloth and represents a Creole woman whose ancestors are of African origin. Her dress is strongly European influenced. Marked 'Seychelles' on sash. Size 32 cm.
