Mexico Michoacán (Purépecha People)

Mexican doll sitting in wooden boat, dressed in the costume of the Purépecha (also known as Tarascan) people living in the state of Michoacán. Typical for this costume is the high-backed pleated skirt. Unfortunately colors are very faded, the skirt used to be red and the hair was black with pink ribbons woven in. Under the boat is a pull string for making a peddling movement. Size 14H x 23W cm. No marks.
