Albania Dolls Tirana Female & Unknown Male

Two Albanian costume dolls, not a matching pair but they look well together. The female doll on the left is wearing the traditional costume of Tirana. Tirana is a city and county in Central Albania. On the right an Albanian male doll wearing a red longsleeved xhamadan (vest or jacket) embroidered with gold thread. This doll needs further identification. Both dolls are marked ‘Albania’ at the front of their stands.

Folklore is in the air… uhm… ear!

Postcard

No postcard available. There should be a nice postcard here that matches these dolls, to show you how the people living in Albania are dressed in their traditional costume.

There is nothing suitable in our postcard books at the moment, too bad!

Happy collecting,
