Iran Persian Dolls Dated 1953

Matching pair of dolls made of stuffed cloth, representing the Persian people of Iran. A former owner had attached a sticker with ‘Perzië 1953’ in handwriting on it, but I removed the old sticker to prevent glue damaging the clothing and attached my own label instead. The female wears a black chador with a white face-veil called ruband. The male is holding prayer beads. Both have real human hair.

Folklore is in the air… uhm… ear!

Postcard

No postcard available. There should be a nice postcard here that matches these dolls, to show you how the people living in Iran are dressed in their traditional costume.

There is nothing suitable in our postcard books at the moment, too bad!

Happy collecting,
