Bulgaria Dolls Unknown & Rhodope Mountains
Two male dolls made in Bulgaria both holding a Baklica, a traditional wooden wine or schnapps bottle used for festive occasions. The male on the left has a label under his stand that reads ‘Dolls Cooperative “Cultural Recreation and Decoration”, Pleven’. What’s in handwriting remains unclear. The male on the right dressed in brown has it’s label removed but is most likely wearing the typical costume of the Rhodope Mountains.
Folklore is in the air… uhm… ear!
